Before Leaving House

Make sure pool heater is off
Make sure cover is on boat and it’s docked securely
In summer: All wall units off
In winter: all heat pumps to 55 and old heater thermostats to lowest setting
In winter: water heater to vacation mode by pressing “vacation” button (if no one else coming up soon)
Close all window shades
Lock upstairs doors and sliding doors, close vertical blinds
Lock downstairs french doors and close curtains
Empty fridge of anything perishable, depending on when next person coming up
Do not leave out any food that is not completely sealed
Collect used towels and place on top of washer
Load dishwasher and start - don't leave any dirty dishes out!
Take out trash and recyclables
Turn off all lights
